Kristen
Tourville
received her Master’s degree in violin performance and Suzuki pedagogy
at Northern Arizona University. In the past two years, she has received
long-term training in Suzuki Books 1-10 in addition to numerous
invaluable teaching and learning opportunities. She got her
undergraduate in performance from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN
and studied with Dr. Carolyn Huebl. Prior to that she studied with Dr.
William Magers and Dr. Katie McLin, among others. While in Nashville
she played professionally with Ray Price and shared the stage with
legends like Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Asleep at the Wheel, and
Alison Krauss. She worked multiple fiddle camps, including Mark
O"Connors fiddle camp, and is a teacher trainer for his fiddle method.
She has also completed training workshops with Michiko Yurko for Music
Mind Games, a revolutionary music theory teaching method. She is a
member of ASTA, Suzuki Association of the Americas, and the Arizona
Suzuki Association. She teaches Violin, Viola, Fiddle, and music theory
and is the directory of our teaching studio.
